RIP Frankie Empty RIP Frankie

My heart goes out to you Dan and Debbie on the passing of Frankie. May he rest in peace secure in the knowledge that he brought joy and amazement to everyone who ever heard his incredible unique style.
Whenever I got the chance to hear you both play, it was something special. I always left with a smile on my face, an uplifted heart, and joy at being able to experience how much fun you two had playing together, no matter who else was onstage.
You two provided me with the best birthday celebration I've ever had in 1991 - seems so long ago now, but thinking about it still brings a smile - when you invited me to share the stage with you at the 5 O' all night. I had an absolute blast! To this day I've never been onstage with better musicians and nicer people than you and Frankie and Wally Gator and Bruce Waibel, may he also RIP. That's a very special memory.
I had planned to attend Frankie's memorial service and relate this memory there, but I have heard through the grapevine that it will be this weekend, June 25, 2011. I am playing in Jefferson City, MO this weekend, so I'll be unable to be there.
Though we haven't seen much of each other Dan, since we stopped our Sunday golf matches, I've always considered you and Debbie special people. Wish I could be there to hug you both. I've heard you're not playing much golf these days; nor am I. Maybe again one day.
I hope to hear you play again when sometime our paths might cross again.
Please know you have my condolences and may my wishing you good energy help you to prevail over all your challenges.
I'm reminded of the old Irish blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Love you Brother!
